WEB DROP INS

1. Macbeth, the Beautiful Stories version

2. Courtly Love

3. John Donne, Metaphysical Poet

4. Ozymandias, A Tale of Two Poets

5. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

These five web drop ins are designed to be done during one class period. #1 has students comparing and contrasting two versions of Macbeth, one from an online source. #2 requires students to examine the convention of courtly love and romance. Metaphors and conceits are focuses of #3, the John Donne activity. An interesting comparison of two Romantic era poems is the concern of drop in #4, and #5 permits students to investigate examples of chivalry. All five of these would enrich a British Literature class.
