
Although we, as Americans, tend to poke fun at our elected officials, especially our President, there are many hoops in which the presidential candidate must jump through before he/she can become president. The Constitution explicitly states some of these qualifications. Thus, these qualifications are called "explicit." However, there are also "implicit" qualifications for the job of president. These are requirements that are not up-rightly stated anywhere, but which our country generally follows. Let me show you what I mean...
Assignment:
Read the
EXPLICIT qualifications for the presidency that are found in the Constitution

here. Look for the three (3) qualifications that are found in
Article 2 and be able to summarize Article 22. Remember, these are
all requirements that ANY president has to fulfill.
Next, read
through the short summaries of the Presidents by clicking
here. Notice their occupation before they became President, where
they were born, their age and their gender.
