INTASC Principle #9

Principle #9: The teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (students, parents, and other professionals in the learning community) and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.

Artifact #1: Internship Journal

Description: The 150 hour internship consisted of approx. 21 days. Each day, I kept a comprehensive log of my observations of the teachers and students, my teaching, my interactions with the staff and students, my tasks as well as my reflections on interesting situations.

Connection to the standard: The internship journal shows that I can reflect, evaluate and improve upon my work as well as the work of other teachers.

Reflection:

Students

The act of keeping a journal is a skill that should be taught at all levels. After
